Thomas Verdin
Thomas is Associate at THEIA Partners, a consulting company based in Paris, helping banks, investment firms and financial departments to set up and maintain their business and regulatory information supply chains. He is an expert on banking, finance and quality reporting.
As a consultant at THEIA Partners, Thomas actively promotes XBRL as a powerful means to improve processes and data quality. He is an active player of the dematerialization project by Infogreffe, the computer platform for French Registers that enables the XBRL-filing or conversion of annual accounts for every company in France. He participated in the COREP and FINREP projects for banking groups in Europe. He developed XBRL training in France and Morocco and contributed to the functional development of various taxonomies, including the French translation of the IFRS Taxonomy and the French Taxonomie Comptes Annuels. He now promotes the use of XBRL for performance management reports, based on EFQM and GRI models.
Thomas completed his engineering studies at Ecole Polytechnique de Bruxelles and Ecole Centrale de Paris, and earned a Master of Business Administration at Collège des Ingénieurs. He developed is expertise in various projects for industry, utilities and financial institutions in Belgium and France.
Thomas is chair of the XBRL Europe Business Registers Working Group.
Yoshiaki Wada
Yoshiaki Wada is currently Director and the head of financial data center section of the Bank of Japan's Financial Systems and Bank Examination Department. In this capacity, he is responsible for the operation of the bank's financial database system and leading the development of XBRL-based data collection system, which went live in February 2006, and have been evolving gradually.
Previous experience includes time with the Information System Services Department, the Secretariat of the Policy Board, and the Budget and Management Office. He has a BA in economics from Hitotsubashi University, and in his spare time enjoys listening to music on his audio system which he constructed himself. Mr. Wada is also very involved in the Boy Scouts movement.
Mike Willis
Mike Willis has more than 26 years of accounting and auditing experience and is a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mike serves as the Chairman of XBRL International, which is currently composed of more than 600 leading software, accounting and finance companies from 30 countries around the world. Mike has served in a number of roles within the XBRL community and currently serves on the International Steering Committee as Chairman. XBRL is an international information format standard designed to dramatically enhance business reporting supply chain processes benefiting preparers, distributors, aggregators and consumers of this information. He speaks frequently, publishes papers and blogs on the topic of business reporting. Mike has been interviewed for or published articles in a range of business periodicals on the topic of a more efficient business reporting supply chain including the Harvard Business Review, Financial Times, Business Week, Wall Street & Technology, CFO Magazine, and CIO Magazine.
Koji Yoshida
Mr. Koji Yoshida is a head for Disclosure Planning of Listing Department in Tokyo Stock Exchange Inc. He is especially responsible for planning and operating electrical disclosure of listed companies and TDnet (Timely Disclosure network) totally about 10 years. TDnet has implemented XBRL as practical use for the first time in the world. He is currently leading the XBRL enhancing project on TDnet.
