Mark Creemers graduated as a Commercial Engineer and also holds a Master in Financial Economics. He has been working in the Statistics department of the National Bank of Belgium for five years, with a main focus on the banking sector.
He was recently closely involved both in the creation of the IFRS reporting scheme for the Belgian banks from a conceptual point of view and in the development of the national XBRL taxonomy for this scheme. Furthermore, he has also been occupied with the creation of the European IFRS-based FINREP taxonomy, an extension of the IFRS-GP taxonomy.
At present, he is responsible for the creation of the Belgian extensions of the FINREP and COREP taxonomies, as well as their national implementation in the IT infrastructure of the National Bank of Belgium.
